Description: A survey of Asian immigration to the United States and Asian American history from the 19th century to the present. Emphasis will be placed upon major historical moments such as the California Gold Rush, Asian Exclusion, World War II, the Vietnam War, and the Civil Rights Movement to help underscore the development of Asian American communities and populations here in the United States. 54 hours lecture.
