Description: Work Experience is designed to coordinate a student's on-the-job experience within the Administration of Justice professional field and their academic progression within the Administration of Justice program. This professional experience, which may be full- or part-time employment or internship/externship experience, provides students with valuable industry skills, technical knowledge, standards, and experiences that contribute to both student employability and student-centered community involvement and economic impact. Students may earn up to four (4) units per semester, for a maximum of 16 units of work experience total. 60 hours of volunteer work or 75 hours of paid work during the semester are required for each unit. No more than 20 hours per week, out of the 60/75 requirement, may be applied toward the work requirement. The course consists of 60 hours of volunteer work experience per unit with a maximum of 240 hours for 4 units per semester OR 75 hours of paid work experience per unit, with a maximum of 300 hours for 4 units per semester.
