RCC Freedom of Speech

Claire Oliveros

RCC President,
Claire Oliveros, Ph.D.

At Riverside City College (RCC), free speech is fundamental to our academic community. It fuels the exchange of diverse ideas essential to our mission. We actively support free speech within our community.

All expressions and assemblies must be peaceful and respectful. While we encourage open dialogue, activities should not disrupt campus operations, including access to facilities and class schedules.

In accordance with Board Policy 3550, defamatory, obscene, or speech inciting lawlessness is strictly prohibited. Cooperation is essential to maintain safety and accessibility for all members of our community.

Our college thrives on respectful dialogue. Let's engage in conversations that promote learning and understanding while prioritizing community well-being and safety.

Thank you for your adherence to these guidelines and dedication to fostering unity and respect at RCC. Kindly review our Freedom of Speech webpage and Frequently Asked Questions and Resources to learn more about how RCC supports and safeguards the principles of free speech and expression.

Sincerely,

Claire Oliveros, Ph.D.
