The Academic Year 2025-2026 student housing application is now open. Students are encouraged to apply early as assignments are made based on application submission date and space availability. Transfer Success Housing is located at North District Phase 2 on the UCR Campus. Move-in Day is tentatively scheduled for August 23, 2025.

Who is Eligible For RCCD Transfer Success Student Housing at UCR?

To be eligible for RCCD Transfer Student Success Housing located on the UCR campus, applicants must meet the following criteria:  

  • Be a registered RCCD student and at least 18 years old at the time of move-in. 
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester in Fall/Spring.
  • Be enrolled in 6 credit hours per summer semester.  
  • Meet low-income eligibility requirements, as defined by state guidelines and verified through the completion of the 2025-2026 FAFSA. 
  • Maintain good standing with student conduct records and financial accounts. 
  • Housing is designated for single students only. Students with children or minor dependents are not eligible for housing at this time. 

Priority by Levels

  • EOPS/CARE/NextUp
  • TRIO
  • Former/Current Foster Youth
  • Students who are currently unhoused
  • Students currently attending Sherman Indian High School
  • Veteran or Active / Reserve Duty Members or dependents
  • Dual Enrollment in Early Childhood Education at UCR
  • Priority Level 1
  • Student Athletes
  • Students who wish to continue their education at UCR
  • Priority Levels 1 and 2
  • All full-time RCCD students who qualify.

What is Transfer Success Student Housing Prioritization? 

  • It guarantees support for students with the greatest need, RCCD has established a prioritization system for housing applications. 
  • Applications are reviewed based on these priorities, followed by the date the application was submitted. Due to limited availability and high demand, housing at North District Phase 2 is not guaranteed.
  • To maximize your chances of securing a spot, submit your housing application as early as possible (even if you are not part of a Priority 1 or Priority 2!)

There are no hidden fees or change of contract rates once you move in. If someone moves out of your room or apartment, you will never be obligated to pay their bill; and if you are having issues in your room, our staff can help! We encourage you to contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships regarding how best to finance living on-campus.

Below you will find a checklist to ensure you have completed all the steps needed to be considered for housing.

  • STEP 1: Submit your housing application.
  • STEP 2: Apply for Financial Aid
    • If you do not apply for financial aid you will not be eligible for housing. 
  • STEP 3: Housing applications and related data are compiled.
  • STEP 4: RCCD confirms your eligibility and priority status.
  • STEP 5: Approved applications are forwarded to UCR.
  • STEP 6: UCR reaches out to engage with applicants.
  • STEP 7: Complete Roommate Matching
    • If you do not complete Roommate Matching you will not be able to continue the application process and move in. 
  • STEP 8: Sign lease/contract
  • STEP 9: Move into your new housing as an RCCD student!

The Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) provides bus services, including the CommuterLink Express, which departs every 20 minutes from UCR to RCC. This scenic route brings passengers to the RCC campus within 30 minutes. Active students on campus will be able to utilize this service for free with their student ID.
