Journalism

As a journalism major, you will master the art of reporting and writing as well as learn legal issues that affect the media.  Through this program of study you will be able to demonstrate an applicable knowledge of the principles of ethical and socially responsible journalism.  You will gain a working knowledge of the equipment and software used by news media and be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in news media and other related occupations.

  • Complete English 1A (transfer-level English)
  • Complete transfer-level math 
  • Complete Two Entry Level Journalism Courses- JOU 1 and 20A
  • Apply to Universities (CSU/UC application period Oct 1-Nov 30)
  • Apply for ADT degree by beginning of spring term before transfer
