STEM Connect, funded through the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education Title III, supports students majoring in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) through academic and social support and research experience. Through on-campus partnerships with the STEM Engagement Center and the Career and Transfer Center, STEM Connection provides advising and tutoring and hosts an annual transfer and career expo. The paid student summer research experience is provided through support and collaboration from Riverside City College (RCC) and California State University, San Bernadino (CSUSB) STEM faculty.

STEM Transfer & Career Expo

The STEM Connections event is held every fall semester specifically for STEM students. Join the 300-plus students who attend to meet with university transfer representatives and career professionals. Additionally, connect with universities who will be recruiting students for paid summer research internships. Food and STEM swag will be provided to students who fully participate.

Summer Research Experience

If you’re a STEM major, you can sign up to participate in a summer research lab. Students can enroll in a Tier 1 research lab, which is one week long and provides a $500 stipend, or in a Tier 2 lab, which is ten weeks long and provides a $4,000 stipend. Research labs are held at RCC and at California State University, San Bernardino. If you’re interested in gaining valuable research experience and being paid for it, make sure that you have completed our interest form.

STEM Faculty Learning Community (FLC)

STEM Connect supports a Faculty Learning Community where faculty are trained in culturally responsive teaching approaches, evaluating equity data, and evidence-based teaching practices. Participating faculty spend up to two years in the FLC learning and being supported by their STEM colleagues.
